Ulumani - Treetops Rainforest is a lodge set in pristine forest wilderness in the foothills of the Pini ranges over looking the azure waters of beautiful Milne Bay at the far eastern tip of the mainland of Papua New Guinea.

Ulumani - Treetops Rainforest lodge is owned and operated by the traditional landowners of the area. The lodge is their initiative to generate income in an ecologically sound and sustainable way and thereby ensure the preservation of the rain forest and its diverse ecosystems for many generations to come. From the lodge as you look from the view, Milne Bay as smooth as a piece of glass, ruffled in spots by a light breeze. So clear and smooth that, you want to get on the boat so soon to discover the bay.

Ulumani - Treetops Rainforest consists of a two-room cottage and an eight-bedroom lodge set in the forested foothills of the Pini Ranges. Both buildings have commanding views over the forest and bay. All amenities are provided with power and hot and cold water. The cottage comfortably sleeps four guests and is fully self contained with a main bedroom and second bedroom which doubles as the living area.

The kitchen area is equipped with a dining table & chairs, refrigerator and stove. The bathroom provides toilet with bath and shower facilities. In the lodge each guest has a separate bedroom. Each room comfortably sleeps two persons and there is mains power to all rooms. The kitchen area is equipped with a good food preparation area with sinks, bench tops, gas cookers and power.

At Ulumani - Treetops Rainforest lodge, the locals bake fresh hot, home made bread rolls for breakfast. Check their home made oven where the bread is baked.

The showers and toilets are attached to the building and include hot water. The lodge is constructed from forest materials in a traditional manner and represent a mens' war house from pre Christian time.The building features a large covered verandah that also serves as the living space and dining area. There is also licensed facilities available. Barbecue's and Birthday parties facilities are provided. CB Radios are also used around the site.The cottage and the lodge are fully serviced with bed linen,mosquito nets and washing services provided. You will enjoy the most stunning sunrises and sunsets while you sit back and enjoy your stay at Ulumani.

What does it cost? The local currency in Papua New Guinea is the Kina (K). At current exchange rates K3 are equivalent to $1 US.
